About the supplier: Bysshe Partnership is an independent company producing high quality fabrics in the traditional textile heartland of the British Isles. They use natural and organic fibres, sourcing yarns from the UK and Europe, to provide a regional network of production where it is possible to oversee the entire process from seed to final creation. They work with some of the last remaining textile mills in the UK. Most of their weaving takes place in Lancashire, before the rolls travel a short distance over the hill to be finished in Yorkshire. They ensure the highest quality at the lowest environmental cost, developing fabrics for a sustainable future.

Every piece we produce is handmade in a small studio in London, England; a process that not only cuts down on fabric waste but is considerably time intensive. With no warp speed production line in place, prices must inevitably rise to offer the people spending hours making each piece a fair, living wage. Ethical, environmentally-friendly fabrics cost more to produce, more to buy wholesale and, inevitably, will cost a customer more when they purchase the end product. An ethical business is a multi-faceted thing. It’s not about just using organic fabric or only using recycled packaging, it takes a holistic approach to be truly ethical. But each extra euro or pound represents an investment in the fair treatment of people, in the protection of our planet, in nurturing traditional craft.
